Host plants:
The larvae feed on Salix and Populus.

Habitat:
Rhegmatophila alpina inhabits gravelly slopes and small valleys with small shrubs of the host plants.

Life cycle:
The pupa hibernates. The moths occur in one or two generations between May and September.

Remarks:
Rhegmatophila alpina occurs especially in Spanish mountain ranges, the Pyrenees and the southern French Alps.
