Host plants:
The caterpillars live on Prunus (mostly Prunus spinosa).
Habitat:
Nola cucullatella colonizes blackthorn hedges, especially in dry warm areas like nutrient-poor limestone grasslands.
Life cycle:
The hibernating caterpillar can be tapped in May. The moths fly from late June to early August.
Remarks:
Nola cucullatella occurs from North Africa across large parts of Europe to Asia Minor.
