Nutrition:
The species lives predatory mostly of arthropods.

Habitat:
Hypsicorypha gracilis inhabits dry warm localities. In Fuerteventura, I met adults in a ravine and in sandy terrain interspersed with small shrubs.

Life cycle:
The larvae seem to develop in the winter months. Adults appear in spring. In Fuerteventura, I met them in February 2010 and 2011. They also seem to be nocturnal. I met one of the good airworthy animals at the hotel lighting at night.

Remarks:
Hypsicorypha gracilis is distributed from the Canary Islands across North Africa to Saudi Arabia.
