Host plants:
The larvae usually feed on detritus, algae and lichens.
Habitat:
Eilema uniola usually inhabits dry and warm sites such as garigues, bushy and rocky slopes, open woodland etc.
Life cycle:
The young larva hibernates. I recorded it in the foothills of the Sierra de Gredos in early May 2022 when shaking out dry litter below open scrub on a rocky slope. The pupal phase lasts quite long and flight time is quite late, mainly between late July and early October. I found a female in the Sierra de Maria (Almeria) in late September 2022.
Remarks:
Eilema uniola has a southwest European distribution (Iberian Peninsula, southern France and supposedly also westernmost Liguria) and is also found in NW-Africa.
