Nutrition:
Probably mainly plants.
Habitat:
I observed Canariola nubigena resting at day on a Euphorbia stem in a hot and dry Barranco in the Teno-mountains in Tenerife in March 2012. The habitat requirements seem to differ significantly from those of Canariola willemsei.
Life cycle:
Unknown. Probably the Imagines are to be observed all over the year.
Endangerment factors:
Because the coast-near dry zones (succulent belt) are strongly endangered by touristic infrastructure, agriculture and general construction activities, this rarely observed species may be threatened by extiction. Further research is needed to confirm this and reveal the actual distribution.
Remarks:
Canariola nubigena is endemic to the Canary Islands and only known from very few specimens.
