Habitat:
Pyrgomorpha cognata inhabits coastal dunes, dry, garigue-like places and similar habitas in the lowlands.

Life cycle:
I found adults in Cyprus near the coast in early November 2016. The endemic Pyrgomorpha cyprius could be found only as qite small larvae in other parts of the island at that time.

Remarks:
Pyrgomorpha cognata occurs in parts of Africa (especially in the North and West) and SW-Asia (e.g. Turkey, Levant incl. Cyprus). In Europe, it is known from Malta.

Hints on determination:
Pyrgomorpha cognata is smaller than the similar Pyrgomorpha conica. I did not find a green female form which is quite regular in conica.
