Host plants:
The caterpillars feed on Pistacia species.

Habitat:
Parocneria terebinthi colonizes dry scrub, rocky slopes, forest edges and other pistachio locations.

Life cycle:
The caterpillar overwinters and is usually mature in May. They are found mostly on the upper leaf surface. But in extreme heat, they are more concealed. In Samos, I met many larvae on bushes that were also occupied by the pistachio processionary moth. The moths fly from May to July.

Remarks:
The spread ranges from parts of the Balkan Peninsula and some eastern Aegean islands across Turkey and the Middle East to the Caucasus.
