Host plants:
The caterpillar lives on birch and alder (Alnus and Betula).

Habitat:
Drepana falcataria inhabits all possible grove rich habitats from forests to gardens, provided a oviposition plant is available.

Life cycle:
The pupa hibernates. The moths fly from April to early September, usually in two generations. The caterpillar lives from late May to early October.

Remarks:
Drepana falcataria occurs from Northern Spain to east Asia. It is quite common in Central Europe.
