Nutrition:
The species feeds mainly on plants of the Chenopodiaceae family.
Habitat:
Dericorys lobata inhabits xerothermic, sparsely vegetated habitats from the coastal dunes to rocky slopes in medium high altitudes around 500m above sea level.
Life cycle:
Dericorys lobata is found as adult on the Canary Islands year-round, but with peak from January to August. I met the adults and nymphs in Fuerteventura in early February 2010 all across the island.
Remarks:
The larvae are very variable (green to brown or reddish brown).
Dericorys lobata occurs on the eastern Canary Islands (Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria). Further, it is found in west Africa.
